We Are Secure

We are told in 1 Peter 1:5, “Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.” Do you trust the Lord to be your safety and security? Do you keep your eyes on the increasing political turmoil, the country’s increasing debt, the spiritual decay among our people or the constant danger in the world? God told us, “I am the Lord, I do not change; therefore you are not consumed” (Malachi 3:6).

We will find plenty to worry us, make us anxious, or make us feel insecure if we take our eyes off the Lord our God, His Word, and His promise to us. This world is in upheaval. It seems these troubling signs of the end seem to be coming faster and faster. My heart says, as John, “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.”

However, we can be secure in the knowledge that we are anchored to our omnipotent (all powerful), omnipresent (ever present), omniscient (all knowing), and unchanging God, who is Lord and sovereign in His universe.

Hebrews tells us, “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and steadfast …,” (Hebrews 6:19). He knows what we need, the troubles we face, and our hearts. Be comforted, for He is in control.

Friends, there are a lot of things we cannot change in our world, but we can trust our Heavenly Father to help us make the right decisions in our lives, our jobs, our families, and our relationships, to guide and help us each day. So regardless of what we face today, trust Him. He alone can see and impact the future. He alone can keep you totally, absolutely secure as you walk in His will.

Thank the Lord today for being your unshakable security in this troubled world. Remember the childhood song, “He is able, He is able — I knew that He is able to carry me through.” Trust the Lord Jesus for your security.
