Learning To Laugh At Life
A mark of being a Christian is joy in life. Psalm 126:2 says, “Then was our mouth filled with laughter and our tongue with singing; then said they among the heathen, the LORD hath done great things for them.”“ So, every so often, we look at the humor of life.
I live in the great state of Tennessee. We recently had a man write the editor of our paper to request the removal of the Deer Crossing sign on his road. The reason: “Too many deer were being hit by cars, and he didn’t want them to cross there anymore. It was too dangerous.”
A friend went to a Taco Bell and ordered a taco. She asked the person behind the counter for "minimal lettuce." He said, “I am sorry, but all we have is iceberg.”
I was at the airport checking in when an airport employee asked. “Has anyone put anything in your baggage without your knowledge?” To which a man replied, “If it was without my knowledge, how would I know?” He smiled and replied, “That is why we ask.”
A stoplight downtown buzzes when it is safe to cross the street. One woman asked what the buzzer was for. Another woman explained that it signals to blind people when the light is red. Appalled, she responded, “What on earth are blind people doing driving?”
The elderly countess is very happy with her chauffeur. He was courteous, prompt, and efficient. The only complaint she had concerned his personal appearance. One day, she said to him diplomatically, “Randall, how frequently do you think one should shave in order to look neat and proper?” “Well, Madame,” said Randall, also trying to be diplomatic, “With a light beard like yours, I’d say every three or four days would be enough.”
Look around; there are funny things going on that make you happy to be a saved human being.
